I've put that campaign on HOLD.
And have started a new one with less players, and ones that I know for sure will show up and if they are unavailable they contact me.
So on to "Haven".
We start with two characters Zach (Austin) and Neko (Nicky), both have just recently moved with their families into a new town. It's a large, circular, town surrounded almost completely by dense forests and at the rear of which has a large lake. This town has three major buildings, a town hall, a church, and a tavern. The town hall is at the northern most part of the town is the town hall, whilst the church and tavern are at the western and eastern points (respectively). There is one road in said town, it leads from the southern "entrance gate" straight to a gigantic tree (think the deku tree from Zelda) which is circles. The town is having some sort of festival in the lower right area, complete with a jousting ring, pony rides, food stalls, and even a "dunk tank". Zach and Neko decide to look around the festival and see what there is to see. As they make their way in an announcement has been made that the jousting competition will comence, so the majority of the towns people make their way over avoiding a specific area of the fair. Zach and Neko take notice of this odd behavior and decide to investigate. Upon reaching that spot they see an old maroon tent with gold trim, one entrance and at that entrance sits an old worn sigh that at one time was legable. They both enter the tent which was much larger then the outside portrayed. Inside is a large hallway like chamber, dimly lit by a single candle at the farthest end on a table. At that table sits an old lady. Curious the two walk towards her, as they walk it seems like the hallway itself grows longer and as they progress further and further along the path something changes. The ground itself seems to lose is solidarity, time and space seem distorted.
At last they reach their destination. Zach mumbles a witty comment about how the sign outside was very helpful, only to awaken the woman. She jolts up revealing her tangled jumble of white hair and milky blind eyes to which there are no lids. "at last our heroes have arrived" she says and opens her left palm a thin wisp of silver (smoke-like) appears and shoots into Neko's chest, the silvery substance surrounds his body and lifts him off the ground. but as quickly as it came it vanishes. Afterwords she opens her right and the same happens to Zach. During which the two men see in their mind's eye the old woman telling them of a quest they must preform, they must retrieve the "blood pearl of the lake" and "the heart of the forest". after their encounter the two are whisked back to the entrance of the tent and they exit.
The two agree to gather their gear and meet by the woods, but that plan quickly unfolds because the town is surrounded by a forest and they didn't agree to what specific spot. Luckily they meet up at the lake behind the town hall.
A spot where I can keep some order to my weekly D&D campaign. Seeing as how my players aren't to awesome at being on time or giving courtesy calls, or even going on FB because I'm always on.... Here they can check in to see what havoc has been reaped, damsels saved, and what not.

Intro to the worlkd and what not..
Okay, so here ladies and gents is a very dumb-down version of what went down the first night of Gaming....
World: here we have a world that has been split into two factions, good and bad (of course). But both are divided on separated land masses with a large expanses of treacherous ocean between. to make things easier on the west hemisphere are the "good" races; Humans, Halflings, Elves, Dwarfs. The east, "bad"; Orcs, Trolls, etc (think WoW or the R.A. Salvatore series that will remain unnamed, because I am lazy).
The West continent ranges from Tropical southern lands filled with lush vegetation to a harsher snow capped peaks of the dwarven mountain territories. There is a separate monarchy for each race, and a council that presides over interracial / cross border policies (e.g the UN).At this time the council has meet and declaired war upon the eastern land due to their savagery and hostile nature, and has sent the first wave of infantry across the ocean to lead an attack on enemy soil.
In regards to the eastern hemisphere not much is known, seeing as how very few scouting vessels have returned from previous voyages. But the terrain is harsh and the inhabitants as well.
At this point the "heroes" have not been acquainted with one another, but have signed up for the "draft" finding the lure of adventure and glory upon the battle field irresistible...
Day one:
Aboard a rough hewn battle ship, with two decks ( upper and the lower being used as living quarters and a mess hall) after a good 15 days of sailing, mark, kyle, austin, and rachel are seated at a table in the mess hall. Short introductions were held from mark "assigning" each toon with a orc-ish profession. Durring which the boat pitches violently a few times. Then in the far end of the room a commotion arises from a group of dwarves, once things get a little heated the party takes notice. Austin and Mark rise from the table to see what's going on, they get to the center of the angry huddle to see a female human form passed out. Learning from the crowd that the bard (xandi's toon) has broken into their meade stash and ravaged the contents. Mark quickly "claims" the woman as his and takes his new found "cargo" into his cabin. During this the boat lurches violently and the commanders n charge rush to the deck to see what is the cause.
The party now interested now follow suit and do to the top deck and confront a "captain Ahab" type NCP who utters some nonsense about a creature raising up from the depths at which point the boat makes a sudden pitch and tosses the NPC over. (A grapple check was made and failed to save the man). A sailor makes it known that the ship has taken a hit and is taking on water below, and the party follows mark's toon to save his "cargo" and see if there is anything that can prevent the ship from capsizing. Marc reaches his "cargo" and in turn grabs rachel's toon and promptly swims out of the gaping hole in the side of the ship. While Kyle and Austin knock down a door and grapple it battling the suction made by the water(making their checks) to successfully plug the hole. Only afterwords realizing their comerades have dissapeared through it. Austin then breaks through the "plug" and grabs kyle and goes after mark and girls.
Surprisingly they all made the swim checks and a spot check with a high dc to find a raft large enough for all of them, even though already inhabited by a druid (Katie), they quickly commandeer it (much to her complaints). They watch as the ship sinks ( Titanic, yes I know I lack originality) and hear the screams of the crew as they fight to survive. After the screams die down they manage to find some make-shift oars and paddle through the debris and lost comrades. They come across tow survivors, though unconscious they bind them (don't ask me why I just run the game). Their raft gets jolted a few time and as they ready they see a large monstrous shark ( a megeladon) and decide it's not the best idea to attack it (good thing too). After much deliberation they decided it's best to head out towards their original destination and after making a makeshift sail, set off east.
In the early morning before dusk, they notice an island with a reddish hue, and decided to land. it takes them until morning to land and set up a decent camp. Austin goes odd and scouts the shore area while the rest build a fire. He finds that they have landed in a cove of sorts, the beach extends a good 30 feet then it meets to a dense jungle. to the right the jungle meets with the ocean with a quick drop off, but to the left the beach extends a good 4 hour walk. After 3 of which there is a small inlet, or grove in the shape of a circle with a handful of large rocks (the size of a suitcase). Strange but nothing out of the ordinary. A little to the left of that grove stands a sheer black cliff (it's obsidian unknown to them at the time). When he returns to the camp it's all set up and the two unconscious are secured to a palm tree with ropes and a decent sized fire going. mark takes first watch and he notices a few rocks (similar to austin's) but nothing exciting. Kyle takes third and in true Halfling manner falls asleep. During kyle's watch Katie is attacked buy a large viper, which the party proceeds to kill much to her dismay, so she separates herself from them. The party sleeps.
In the morning Austin shows the rest of the party the scope and layout of the beach. When they get to the grove, Austin is shocked to see lots more rocks this time aligned in rows and columns. kyle casts detect magic and they see a ring circling the perimeter of the grove faintly traced in the sand.
to be continued..
